Marcin: Art of Guitar India Tour 2026
Marcin – Art of Guitar Tour 2026 marks the first-ever India performances by Polish guitarist, composer and producer Marcin, presented by Jameson Connects and Foreword. The four-city tour opens in Mumbai at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre's Grand Theatre on 7th August, moves to Bengaluru's Prestige Centre for Performing Arts on 8th August, NCR's Room XO Gurugram on 9th August, and closes in Shillong at Lariti on 12th August. At 25, and signed to Sony Classical, Marcin has crossed 500 million YouTube views, built an Instagram following of 4.2 million, and performed at London's Royal Albert Hall. India is already his fourth-largest market worldwide, built entirely without a single live show here — until now. Running alongside the tour is The Great Indian Riff Off, a nationwide talent initiative open to ticket holders in all four cities. One winner will earn the opportunity to open for Marcin on tour, spotlighting guitar talent from across the country. The tour is presented by Jameson Connects, the culture platform from Jameson Ginger Ale, in partnership with Foreword, the Bengaluru-based culture company behind the India Jazz Project and The Shift. Farmers' Market (August)
The 1917 iTEAMS, Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Government of Meghalaya, supported by the Meghalaya Farmers' (Empowerment) Commission, is set to host the 8th Edition of the Farmer's Market. Bringing together local farmers and consumers, the market offers a farm-to-table experience, where visitors can shop directly from growers for the freshest seasonal vegetables, juicy fruits, fresh fish, and a variety of locally produced farm delights. It is a wonderful opportunity to support Meghalaya's farming community while enjoying high-quality produce straight from the source.
Pineapple Festival
The fourth edition of the Meghalaya Pineapple Festival was held at Dilli Haat, INA, New Delhi, from July 10 to July 12, 2026. Organized by the Meghalaya Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, the three-day event aimed to promote the state's famous pineapples—known for their high sweetness and low acidity—and provide a direct platform for farmers to connect with consumers, retailers, and exporters. During the festival, the state government also signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with organizations like Flipkart and the National E-Market Services Limited (NeML) to further expand market access for Meghalaya’s pineapple growers.
Chief Minister's World Cup Fan Park 2026
The Department of Tourism, in association with the Government of Meghalaya, is proud to present the Chief Minister's World Cup Fan Park 2026, a public event celebrating the FIFA World Cup 2026. Hosted at the SRGT Parking Lot in Shillong, the Fan Park brings together football fans from across the state for live screenings of FIFA World Cup 2026 matches, fan engagement activities, and a shared celebration of the world's most-loved sport. Meghalaya has always had a deep love for football. The Chief Minister's World Cup Fan Park is a reflection of that passion, a space where the entire community can come together and cheer as one.
HM Music Awards 2026
The inaugural Hello Meghalaya Music Awards (HM Music Awards) were held at the S.R.G.T Ground in Polo, Shillong on June 19, 2026. Organized to celebrate local artists and musicians featured on the state's government-run OTT platform, 'Hello Meghalaya', the event recognized outstanding talents across 16 categories, including Folk, Pop, Hip-Hop/Rap, Gospel, and Rock. During the ceremony, artist Reble was honored with the 'Icon of the Year' award, while Tengbaan R. Marak was recognized as the 'Best Rock Artist'. Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma announced ambitious plans to further develop the state's creative economy, including the construction of a Film City and Film Institute in Shillong.

The market showcases fresh fruits, vegetables, organic produce, traditional food items, and handmade products from farmers and local entrepreneurs across the state. It creates better income opportunities for farmers, promotes local and healthy produce, encourages community participation, and helps strengthen the connection between farmers and consumers while supporting sustainable livelihoods.

Shillong Literary Festival (New Delhi Prelude)
The New Delhi Prelude to the Shillong Literary Festival 2026 was a two-day cultural event held at Bikaner House, New Delhi, on May 8 and 9, 2026. Organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Meghalaya, this event served as a precursor to the main Shillong Literary Festival scheduled for November. Designed to expand the festival's national outreach and promote Meghalaya's rich cultural heritage, the prelude featured literary conversations, book readings, cultural performances, and panels on the Northeast's creative landscape. The event hosted prominent figures including Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma in conversation with journalist Shekhar Gupta, actor Naseeruddin Shah, and author Shobhaa De.
Empowerment of Tourism Champions
The Department of Tourism, Government of Meghalaya, hosted the 'Empowerment of Tourism Champions' program on May 6, 2026, at the Orchid Lake Resort, Umiam. The event celebrated and supported grassroots stakeholders in the tourism sector, including entrepreneurs, homestay owners, artisans, students, and community leaders. Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma distributed sanction letters to the initial cohort of beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Meghalaya Homestay Mission, which aims to construct 3,000 new homestays. Funding was also announced under the Community-Led Tourism Infrastructure Scheme, and cash prizes were awarded to the state’s top ten performing PMEGP homestay hosts. Full-course scholarships were presented to IHM Shillong students, and a special Bravery Award was given to tourist buddy Teiborlang Pakma for a heroic rescue at Ward’s Lake.
4th Northeast Regatta 2026
The 4th Northeast Regatta will be held from April 02 to April 06, 2026 at the Umiam Water Sports Complex in Meghalaya. This exciting sailing event will bring together more than 100 participants from across the Northeast and beyond. Shillong Literary Festival
The fifth edition of the Shillong Literary Festival was held at Ward’s Lake from November 20–22, 2025, bringing together international, national, and local voices for a three-day celebration of literature and creativity. Day 1 opened with a welcome address by Dr. Vijay Kumar D., followed by sessions featuring Banu Mustaq and Francesc Miralles. Speakers, including Sanjoy Hazarika, Sonal Jain, and Desmond Kharmawphlang, shared insights, alongside a live drawing by Dennis Laishram and readings by Valden Pariat. Pineapple Festival
The Meghalaya Pineapple Festival is an annual initiative of the Government of Meghalaya in collaboration with Meghalaya Tourism, DOFP, the Ministry of Agriculture, and other partners. The festival was held just after the pineapple harvest season in 2023, and in 2025, it extended to the India Gate lawns as well.
