7000 Steps Coffee Quest — Discover Meghalaya's Wild Coffee & Culture
An immersive journey from coffee lab to remote hill farms, exploring Meghalaya's wild coffee, traditional cultivation, and local culture with the team at 7000 Steps.
The 7000 Steps Coffee Quest is designed as a two-part experience that takes participants deep into Meghalaya's coffee story. The journey begins at the 7000 Steps office, which functions as a curing, roasting, and learning centre, where visitors learn about the post-harvest journey of coffee—from raw green beans to roasted coffee ready for brewing. The experience then moves into remote coffee-growing villages such as Mynriah, Pynursla, Nongskhen, and Marngar, nestled amid lush forests and high-altitude landscapes. Here, participants walk through small family-owned coffee farms, interact with farmers, observe traditional processing methods, and understand how terroir, altitude, and microclimate shape the unique flavor profiles of Meghalaya's coffee. The experience blends learning, slow travel, nature walks, and meaningful community engagement.
