Wari Chora
A hidden river canyon in Meghalaya, known for its crystal-clear waters, towering cliffs, and immersive rafting experiences through narrow gorges.
Wari Chora is one of Meghalaya's most offbeat natural wonders, tucked away in the dense forests of the South Garo Hills. This breathtaking canyon is carved out of the Rongdik River, which winds through towering cliffs covered in moss and trees, creating an almost surreal landscape. The river's waters shift between shades of blue, green, and transparent, adding to its mystical charm. Discovered only a few years ago, Wari Chora has quickly gained popularity among adventure seekers. The journey through Wari Chora feels like stepping into a hidden paradise, where nature's raw magnificence remains largely untouched by crowds.
Cabs or local transport can be taken from Shillong or Guwahati to Baghmara, the nearest major town. From Baghmara, it's about a two-hour drive to the canyon.
